Chan Kim and Renee Mauborgne, authors of Blue Ocean Strategy (Harvard Business School Press) advise a kingpin approach: “Concentrate efforts on kingpins, the key influencers, the people inside an organization who are natural leaders, well respected and persuasive. As with kingpins in bowling, when you hit them straight on, all the other pins come toppling down.”
